About Us...
The mission of Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska is to provide people who have a physical, emotional or developmental disabilities or disadvantages with the opportunity to achieve their highest level of personal and economic independence. Goodwill has a retail store in Grand Island and because of the daily contributions by individuals and businesses of good useable clothing and household items we are able to meet the annual goals of the agency and support and fund the programs and services for persons with disabilities and disadvantages. We offer services in 54 countries throughout Central and Western Nebraska. In Grand Island we provide Behavioral Health Programs and Services designed to enable consumers who experience a mental illness to live successfully in the community. Services include Day Rehabilitation/Day Support, Peer Support, Community Support, Employment Services, Housing and Transportation. We also offer Developmental Disabilities Services designed to develop vocational and social skills, increase community integration and personal growth. Services include individualized assessment, program planning, vocational training and support in finding and keeping a job through job coaching. Goodwill also manages two Section 8-HUD independent housing units in Grand Island offering support for person with a serious mental illness.
