Rev. K. G. William Dahl founded Bethphage in Axtell, Nebraska in 1913. Bethphage now serves over 1700 individuals with developmental disabilities in 15 states, Latvia and Great Britain. Bethphage is a nondenominational, non-profit program, in affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The Bethphage Grand Island Program was established in 1987 and serves approximately 45 individuals, employing nearly 60 employees. Respite services and family support services are provided for individuals and their families. Day services include such programs as vocational , supported employment, school transition, retirement, special needs, in-home supports and transportation services.
