Strategic Plan
Each year the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors formulate a strategic plan for the upcoming twelve months. The Board discusses and analyzes the issues facing the business community and subsequently identifies those areas of focus for the Chamber.
Top Strategic Initiatives for 2010:
- Community readiness for inaugural Nebraska State Fair
- Support technical high school concept/initiative.
- Press for consideration of a higher education “campus” to attract traditional students.
Value Proposition for 2010-2015:
Extend our best collaborative effort in the community and area/region.
- Identify prime community opportunities and explore opportunities to promote regionalism.
- Represent business interests at the local, state and federal levels to ensure economic stability and growth
- Ensure businesses in the area are provided with qualified, skilled, trained and educated workers.
- Ensure the community amenities encourage employee retention, meeting social, recreational, cultural and primary needs and expectations.
- Support and promote economic vitality and diversity of employment opportunities.
- Measure, track and set targets in pursuit of continual improvement.
- Maintain a strong and engaged Board; diverse and passionate about our community.
- Revisit Vision/Mission annually, redefine and align strategic initiatives accordingly.
