    Job Description
    Wayne State College is seeking an Assistant Director-Admissions. This position is based in Grand Island, Nebraska, and travels to all Grand Island area high schools, including loading, unloading, and transporting admissions materials, displays, and other equipment.

    Nature of Work:
    Assist in the development and implementation of a student recruitment strategy with specialization in a focus area. Based in or around the city of Grand Island. This position requires a high level of independent work around creating a recruitment strategy. Create and maintain relationships with community based organizations. Recruits first time traditional high school students through public speaking and presentations. Coordinates special events with area schools within the territory. Counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process and provides enrollment assistance. Travels to area high schools, including loading and transporting admissions materials, displays and other equipment. Involves recording and analyzing student data to meet recruitment strategy

    Examples of Work Performed:
    1. Assist in the development of a student recruitment strategy.
    2. Record and analyze student data to meet recruitment strategy and recommend changes.
    3. Report progress of recruitment efforts.
    4. Meet enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment area.
    5. Create and maintain relationships with community base organizations, especially those who serve diverse populations.
    6. Present the College and the Admissions profession in a positive way.
    7. Represent the College to prospective students and their families.
    8. Coordinate recruitment events.
    9. Travel includes loading and transporting admissions materials, displays, and other equipment.
    10. Telecounsel with prospective students to encourage campus visits as well as apply for admission.
    11. Assist students individually and in groups to apply for admission and address the college admission process.
    12. Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with potential students regarding the status of their applications for admission.
    13. Assist with new student registration programs.
    14. Evening and weekend hours required especially during travel season.
    15. Periodic travel to the main campus in Wayne required.
    16. Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree or related work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
    —Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills
    —Public speaking skills that include diverse populations
    —Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently
    —Ability to prioritize and work independently to complete tasks
    —3-5 years of professional work experience

    Other Requirements:
    Criminal Background and DMV Check; Drivers License

    Salary Information:
    Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual Salary range is $40,000.00--$50,000.00.
