    Job Description
    Wayne State College is seeking a Director-Workforce & Community Education located in Grand Island, NE.

    Nature of Work: This position provides leadership, direction, and managerial oversight for market development of workforce and community education. Provides direction in developing industry and education partnerships, programs, and educational services to include cooperative education program. Collaborates with business, industry, government, and education agencies to promote the college. Supports workforce development efforts within service area in collaboration with the Executive Director, Cooperative Education, and Industry Liaison.
    Examples of Work Performed: – Directs development, sustainability and adaptation of education programs
     
    ­   -Partners with college administration, faculty and staff to promote workforce education programs
     
    ­   -Coordinates workforce development activities with the community economic development and education administration 
     
    ­   -Establish, monitor and report on workforce and community goals, metrics and program evaluation.
     
    ­   -Coordinate employer activities, events, site visits, employer networking and off-site activities
     
    ­   -Assist with cooperative education recruitment, retention and development; in-class activities
     
    ­   -Utilize CSM to process, track, and manage employers, students and experiential activities
     
    ­  – Provide fiscal oversight of community efforts to include budget reporting and accountability
     
    ­   -Directs outreach, marketing initiatives, and other career services activities that lead to increased workforce development and education programs in the community
     
    ­   -Provides leadership in efforts to integrate employers and students into college programs, advocating on behalf of the college to perspective businesses, partners, and students
     
    ­   -Participate in college, county, and state-wide committees and advisory boards
     
    ­   -Coordinates education programs in cooperation with the academic deans, faculty and career services
     
    ­  -Represents college at various community outreach meetings and events.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree

    Preferred Qualifications:
    · Master’s degree or related work experience
    · Experience in workforce lead generation and industry development
    · Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    · Strong verbal and written communication skills
    · Strong organizational skills
    · Ability to work with diverse populations
    Other Requirements:
    Criminal background and DMV check; and valid driver’s license

    Salary Information:
    Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual salary range is $60,000.00--$75,000.00
