    Job Description
    Job Overview
    Provide efficient and courteous service of food and beverage to guests and enforce high quality presentation.  Maintain an appealing, clean and safe environment for the guests and fellow staff.
     
    Duties and Responsibilities
     
    GUEST EXPERIENCE
    • Review current events to prepare for the current day’s customers and work load.
    • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
    • Prepare food and beverages for service to hotel guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards.
    • Ensure all equipment are in proper operational condition and are cleaned on a regular basis
    • Ensure that all the Lounge space is cleaned, vacuumed and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume.  Notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs.
    • Excel to achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals.  Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
    ACCOUNTABILITY
    This is a line level food and beverage job in a small to medium full-service hotel with banquet facilities that cater to 500 people or less.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum:  Basic reading and writing.  Food service experience preferred.
     
    This job requires ability to perform the following:
    • Carrying or lifting items weighing in excess of 50 pounds
    • Moving about the facility, being on your feet for up to 8 hours at a time
    • Handling objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.
    • Bending, stooping, kneeling
    • Cash handling
    • Reconciling shift reports
     
    Other:
    • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, bar staff, cooks, and supervisors.
    • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
    • Must speak fluent English.  Must be able to read, write and perform basic math equal to a GED education.  Must be able to properly count cash back to customers and handle large volumes of cash
    • Shift is nights, weekends, and/or holidays if facility is open.
