    Employment in agricultural equipment production has grown significantly in the past 10 years. Farm machinery and equipment manufacturing employment is projected to grow by 3.7% nationwide over the next decade. Exports of agricultural equipment account for nearly 10% of Hall County’s total exports.

     

    Food and Beverage Production

    Food and beverage production in Grand Island dates back to the 1860s with the advent of the flour mills. Today, food and beverage production and distribution remain an integral part of our economy. Meat products, onion rings, dairy products and wine are just some of the food and beverages made in Grand Island.

Grand Island offers numerous careers in the transportation, distribution and logistics industry including refrigerated warehousing and storage, long haul trucking and support activities for rail and air transportation.

     

    Health Care

    Our growing health care services have earned Grand Island the reputation as a regional care center. In 2018 alone, ground was broke and work began on the new Grand Island Regional Hospital on South Highway 281. Meanwhile, CHI Health St. Francis began work on its new state-of-the-art cancer treatment center. With specialists such as neurologists, oncologists, and pulmonologist to occupational therapists and nurses, there is a wealth of opportunity for health care professionals in our community. Nearly 5,000 people are employed in the health care and social assistance fields.
