The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals program is hosting the 3rd annual State of the City Address at Bosselman Corporate Headquarters,1607 South Locust Street, Suite A on Thursday, February 14th, from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. This informative morning will provide the public with an opportunity to hear from community leaders about their current pressing issues as well as their one- to five-year forecast. The State of the City address is a free event and open to the public.

Presenters for the State of the City address include:

    • Roger Steele, Mayor of the City of Grand Island
    • Jane Richardson, Hall County Board of Supervisors
    • Dr. Marcie Kemnitz, Central Community College Campus President
    • Matt Fisher, Grand Island Northwest Superintendent

“This is a unique opportunity for residents of Grand Island and Hall County to hear from key elected officials and development representatives on issues of importance to the people. You will be hearing from all of these organizations at one time, in one place. They will be discussing comprehensive information on future plans and goals, as well as potential challenges. Too often we key in on one or two of our governing entities without an understanding of how one organization might impact another organization. I applaud the Grand Island Chamber’s Young Professionals program for organizing this event and for the commitment to understand local government and our education system,” said Cindy Johnson.

“The State of the City Address provides the opportunity to hear from key leaders/organizations which help to make up and shape the cornerstone of our community is instrumental to understanding our city’s future growth. During this event, great information is provided, thought-provoking questions are asked and insightful conversations are had. As a member of the Young Professionals, it is exciting to be hosting this event for the third consecutive year,” said Beth Frerichs, Marketing Director at Chief Construction and former Young Professionals Chair.
