    Organization: Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity
    Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
    Position Type: Full-time, Exempt
    Reports To: Board of Directors

     

    Introduction:

    Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization in fulfilling its mission and achieving its strategic goals. The Executive Director provides visionary leadership, effective management, and strategic direction to ensure the continued success and growth of the organization.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Vision:

    • Provides visionary leadership to inspire staff, volunteers, and stakeholders towards the achievement of the organization's mission and strategic objectives.

    • Develops and communicates a compelling vision for the organization's future, in alignment with its core values and goals.

    2. Strategic Planning and Implementation:

    • Collaborates with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization's mission and objectives.

    • Monitors and evaluates progress towards strategic goals, making adjustments as necessary to ensure success.

    3. Financial Management:

    • Oversees the financial health of the organization, including budget development, financial reporting, and fiscal accountability.

    • Develops and implements strategies to diversify funding sources, including grants, donations, and other revenue streams.

    4. Program Development and Evaluation:

    • Leads the development and implementation of high-impact programs and initiatives that align with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

    • Establishes mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, and use data-driven insights to inform program improvements.

    5. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:

    • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with donors, funders, partners, and other stakeholders to support the organization's mission and goals.

    • Serves as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization, effectively representing its interests to external audiences.

    6. Team Leadership and Management:

    • Provides effective leadership and management to staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

    • Recruits, develops, manages, and retains a high-performing team (including staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors), providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities as needed.

    7. Governance and Compliance:

    • Works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

    • Provides regular updates and reports to the Board on organizational performance, financial health, and strategic initiatives.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for the mission and values of Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity, with a commitment to social impact and community service.

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 3 years of senior management experience in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of success in organizational management, strategic planning, and fundraising.

    • Strong understanding of nonprofit finance, budgeting, and financial management practices.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, innovate, and lead organizational change initiatives.

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
